Phrao, just 95 km north of Chiangmai – a drive by car, motorbike, or bus takes about 1 ½ hours through beautiful mountainous nature. The distance from Phrao to two major bird watching areas are only 45 km to Chiang Dao and 105 km until Doi Angkhan – both roads are perfect mountain roads ( see Link = Map = ).

Doi Farang Bungalow Holiday Resort is located 7 km north outside Phrao, built on the end of a mountain slope, the untouched forest and jungle in the back, surrounded by orchards, and rice paddies right in the front. The Resort itself is nestled in orchards, blooming jungle trees, bushes, and flowers together with three natural ponds – a very quiet and relaxing place and even when busy – the only “crowded” place is our restaurant.

According to several guests – professional birdwatchers – from different countries, they were able to see about 60 species in the Resort and another 40 species in the close rice paddies and orchards. They mentioned rare species and even some they were surprised to see in this region.

As birdwatchers are certainly also nature lovers, we could provide you with suitable accommodation. Our rustic style wooden buildings – former Rice Barns – which are converted into living quarters for two or four persons at a daily rate of Baht 650,-- or Baht 1.000,--. Our big Lanna Style Thai House can accommodate up to eight persons in four separate spacious rooms which are connected with a big outside terrace – the daily rate is Baht 4.000,-- ( see Link = Bungalows = ). We can also provide western style bungalows. In addition – for undisturbed – meetings we can offer our Hut – hill tribe style which is located at an end of the Resort ( see Link = News = )
